A website that truly everyone can use

About Me
Jenny Wullich

A website is only finished when everyone can actually use it, not just the people who see well and click with a steady hand.

Barrierefreie Website für Igel media
The igelmedia website, built with accessibility in mind from the very start.

The starting point

Sascha Lang makes media for inclusion, and lives it. igelmedia needed a website that doesn't just claim to be inclusive but actually is: usable with keyboard and screen reader, easy to read, clearly structured. Here, accessibility wasn't a box to tick at the end, it was the starting point.

Idea & approach

From the very first sketch, I designed around the requirements rather than bolting them on afterwards: enough contrast, a sensible reading and tab order, visible focus states, properly labelled elements. Beautiful and accessible aren't opposites, they belong together.

The result

A site that speaks to everyone and gets in no one's way. It's live, have a look:

Ideally nice and simple, in a video call. I take my time, I listen - and together we see whether we are a good match.
